SCANDINAVIA (season: summer)
When it comes to Scandinavia, everyone immediately imagines the Norwegian fjords and cool fishing. And they are absolutely right! But there are still some regions in Scandinavia where yachting is no less exciting.
Yachting in Norway is amazing and it does not look like any other. A yacht trip along the long, varied coast of Norway with steep mountains, deep fjords and small islands can be combined with walks in the surrounding mountains, glacier hikes, fishing and even diving. There are some interesting sights here including Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), Kjerag and Lysefjorden. Trekking to Pulpit Rock is one of the most popular activities in the region.
For those who love unusual tours the walk around the Arctic Circle is open.
Stockholm (Sweden) is located on the largest archipelago in the world and has a fleet here as well! The city of Stockholm lies on 14 beautiful islands and people have been living here since the Stone Age! The city was born as a trading center since the Vikings (since 1000 AD). Now Stockholm is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in Europe, which has managed to keep the ancient architecture fairly intact thus tourists can plunge into the ubiquitous Nordic culture and history. Gamla Stan or the old town is the perfect destination for those who want to see the mansions and ancient architecture. The area still has a medieval layout and is incredibly beautiful.
